Hill Prince won the New York Handicap, but his season was cut short by a fractured cannon bone. Despite the injury, he was named Handicap Horse of the Year. The following season Hill Prince won the San Marcos Handicap in his final victory.

At stud Hill Prince sired 23 stakes winners as well as the dams of Hall of Fame members Dark Mirage and Shuvee.
